What type of ductwork do you use?
Thermal Active Air-Conditioning & Heating uses quality R1-rated flexible ductwork for our ducted reverse cycle, ducted gas heating and evaporative cooling installations. This duct has superior insulation properties, increasing efficiency and saving you money on running costs.
Does ducted air conditioning have a star rating?
Because of the many variables in ducted air conditioning installations, they do not come with a star rating at present. However, today’s systems are as much as 60% more efficient than those systems manufactured as little as 10 years ago.
Where should you locate the vents in a room for maximum cooling and efficiency?
Air conditioning and heating vents should be situated near windows. Evaporative cooling vents should ideally be situated further from the window to create a breeze.
What type of refrigerant is used?
Air conditioners are pre-charged with the eco-friendly R410A or R32 refrigerant.
What should I look for in an air conditioning system?
The system should be properly sized to provide enough cooling and heating for your home. Your system will not heat or cool your home effectively or efficiently if it does not have the required capacity. New products can reduce uneven temperatures from room to room. If you have allergies, look for systems that filter your home’s air as it circulates. To discuss further please contact our office.
How long can I expect a new system to last?
Industry averages suggest an air conditioner should last 12-15 years.
What is involved in replacing an old system?
Replacement of new indoor and outdoor units. In addition, prior to finalising a quote for you, other associated components will be checked to confirm whether suitable for reuse or replacement is required ie ductwork, electricals, refrigerant pipework, return air grilles, transitions, condensate drainage, fluid vents, slab/brackets controller of zoning
Do I need to have my air conditioning or heating system serviced?
Yes, Thermal Active recommend having your system serviced at least once a year. If your equipment is not regularly maintained, small unidentified problems wear and tear issues can reduce the efficiency and life of the system.
